RESPONSIBILITIES:
Escorts patients to exam rooms in order of appointment times.
Interviews patients to obtain history, family history, and history of allergies and medications and records information on patients’ charts.
Prepares treatment room according to scheduled procedure or anticipate physicians needs if non-scheduled procedure is likely.
Assists physician with biopsies and surgical procedures such as excisions, ED&C, etc.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Straightens and cleans exam rooms after patient visits.
Completely and correctly fills out all required pathology and laboratory requisition documents. Document laboratory pick-ups. Call Labs for outstanding tests.
Answers telephone inquiries from patients, or primary care physicians.
Stocks all exam rooms.
Receive, process and document all requirements, submit the required documentation, and update the Prior Authorization submission documents when necessary
Prioritize incoming authorization requests according to urgency
Spanish speaking a plus.
