Medical Assistant PRN

Medical Assistant needed for busy ambulatory surgery center in Merced, CA.

Motivated, self-directed and reliable individual wanted. Help nursing staff with preop intake completed on a computer through Simple Admit, vital signs, patient positioning, ambulating, transfers and transport. Assist in stocking, disinfecting and data input in Recovery Room. Need excellent English communication skills, Spanish a plus.

Physical demands:

• No physical limitations, must be able to assist in positioning post-operative patients with moving, sitting, and walking

High school diploma or equivalent

Current BLS certification required.

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Hourly Wage $23.00

Required Skills

University Surgery Center complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce. Required Experience

• Must be competent in the use of basic office equipment including computer, printer, telephone, and fax.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and remain poised and professional when interacting with potentially hostile patients and family members.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals.
• Current certification in BLS.
