    Job Summary: Our team is looking for a passionate Medical Assistant to engage with underserved individuals in our community to provide quality health services. The organizational purpose of a Medical Assistant is to assist the ARNP during the examination process, taking vitals, and explaining the medical procedures and treatment. We are looking for an MA that is friendly, empathetic, and able to communicate effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds. This role requires the skill to work under pressure and manage time effectively, especially during busy periods.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The job duties listed below are the essential job functions of this role. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, new responsibilities may be assigned with or without prior notice.

    Medical Assistant:

    Passes patients from lobby into the vitals examination area and to the appropriate exam room

    Obtains and records, vital signs, process phlebotomy, records patients' chief complaint and documents any ARNP evaluation notes in patients charts while ensuring patient information is correct

    Safeguarding all consents are signed by the patient prior to provider performing any type of procedure

    Creates and manages labs ordered as directed by ARNP

    Monitors and documents patient symptoms during clinical exams

    Accurately updates and records patient medications, allergies, pharmacy information, risk factors, social history, and family history in patient chart upon each visit

    Reviews and completes Task Manager and Patient Task daily on EMR system

    Ensures that all the exam rooms are fully supplied, accessible, clean, and ready to be used before the patient/provider enters room

    Front Desk:

    Greets patients with warm smile and willingness to assist

    Checks in patient by confirming identification information, insurance and completion of consent forms

    Updates patient information if any changes are presented

    Proficient usage of EMR system to address patient chart for pending labs, medication, auxiliary services

    Responsible for insurance entry, accuracy and verification prior to services rendered

    Comprehends complexity of insurance eligibility limits in areas of pharmacy selection and medication refills

    Communicates with management to ensure patient support if being offered to feasibly partake in treatment plan.

    Complies with all OSHA and HIPPA policies along with all policies and procedures established by WellView Care

    Provides compassionate patient support and care, attention, and assistance during office visits

    Additional Duties:

    Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality

    Attends all mandatory staff meetings

    Minimum Required Qualifications & Experience:

    Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Minimum 1-year prior medical assistant experience, preferably in testing and treatment management or a closely aligned specialty with a genuine interest to learn

    Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

    Bilingual

    EMR Systems experienced

    Rapid Testing Certified

    HIV Counselor 500/501 Certified

    CPR Certified

    Education:

    Graduate of Medical Assistant Program

    Certifications:

    Medical Assistant Certification

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and prolong periods of standing when processes phlebotomy

    Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds occasionally (ex: pack of water bottles)
