    Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at our Occupational Medicine Clinic.     Responsibilities:

    Patient Care:

    Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.

    Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints accurately.

    Perform basic medical procedures such as wound care, suture removal, and administering injections under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals.

    Educate patients on occupational health practices, preventive measures, and treatment plans.

    Ensure patient comfort and safety during medical procedures.

    Administrative Duties:

    Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage patient records efficiently.

    Verify patient insurance coverage and process billing information accurately.

    Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.

    Complete and maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies.

    Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.

    Occupational Health Support:

    Collaborate with employers, workers' compensation agencies, and insurance companies to facilitate occupational health services.

    Conduct pre-employment screenings, physical exams, and drug testing for employees.

    Perform audiometric and spirometry testing as required by occupational health regulations.

    Assist in the management of workplace injuries and illnesses, including follow-up care and documentation.

    Provide support in developing and implementing workplace wellness programs.

    Team Collaboration:

    Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

    Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

    Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical services.

    Qualifications:

    Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.

    Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.

    Previous experience in occupational medicine or a related healthcare setting is advantageous.

    Proficiency in medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and basic computer skills.

    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, coworkers, and external stakeholders.

    Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.

    Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive information.

    Current CPR certification is desirable.
