Multispecialty medical practice located in on the UES and Midtown (affiliated with NY Presbyterian/Cornell, Roosevelt/Columbia and Mt Sinai Hospitals) is looking for ONE well-trained and well-rounded professional biller with experience in pediatrics, internal and / or other medical specialties. Candidate MUST have at least TWO years of prior medical billing experience. Person must be polite, very fast with modern technology, able to multitask, be diligent, punctual and get work done. Must hold a high school degree. Must be a US citizen or a Green Card holder.
Compensation starts at $22 per hour but may be adjust upward depending on the quality of work and prior experience. Based on the needs it may be part time with potential extension to full time. Eligible candidate will have a detailed preliminary interview first.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and transmit medical/behavioral claims using billing software, ensuring both electronic and paper claims are processed correctly.
Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals to ensure timely reimbursement.
Manage overpayment letters and refunds from insurance companies to ensure proper allocation and payment resolution.
Post payments, adjustments, refunds, and patient payments in a timely manner.
Run check/transaction and collection reports regularly to monitor and track outstanding payments.
Monitor patient balances, send out outstanding balance notifications, invoices and statements to ensure payments are collected.
Respond to patient calls and emails regarding billing inquiries and provide assistance in resolving any issues or questions.
Qualifications:
Previous 2 years of experience in medical billing or a related field required.
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid billing requirements preferred.
Familiarity with insurance verification, eligibility checks, and claims submission processes
Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks
Strong communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and team members effectively
