Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller and Coder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, submitting claims to insurance companies, and ensuring timely reimbursement for medical services.

Key Responsibilities

· Review and analyze patient records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for billing.

· Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

· Submit claims to insurance providers and follow up on unpaid claims.

· Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve discrepancies.

· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.

· Maintain patient confidentiality and security of medical records.

· Stay updated with changes in coding standards and healthcare regulations.

· Be familiar with complete revenue cycle management.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in medical billing and coding preferred.

· Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is required.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing and coding.

· Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

· Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

· Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
