MG Billing is a boutique billing and insurance services company, looking to add a medical biller to their Billing Administration Team - a position is currently open in mental health and substance abuse facility group department. The position involves working closely with both owners/doctors of facilities/practice groups, their related staff, and insurance representatives ranging from provider service reps to managers/directors of departments/regions - in order to ensure both the highest level of customer service for clients and maximum reimbursements for services rendered. An MG biller must be detailed oriented, strong in follow up calling, and possess a passion for creative problem solving.
Responsibilities Include:
Weekly billing of services rendered by provider (averaging 100-200 claims- varies per account)
Daily collections- obtaining status through insurance representatives (and online resources), maintaining schedule of each policy reimbursement to ensure uniform and highest paying reimbursement
Daily posting and applying payments received to keep client financials’ as up to date and accurate as possible
Review and submit medical records and other documentation- to ensure services meet required insurance standards and to respond to insurance medical record requests in a timely manner
Monthly submission of appeals for retro authorization, higher reimbursement, medical necessity, non-covered service
Monthly/Weekly reports to clients on reimbursement and census performance
Monthly statement generation and mailing
Setting up providers with online access and payment tools
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent degree
Basic knowledge of medical insurance benefits and policies
3+ Years Medical Billing/Administration Experience
Experience with facility billing for mental health and substance abuse a plus
Certification in Coding a plus, but not required
HIPAA compliance trained, also a plus
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must uphold a gold standard customer service approach to all client interactions
Must be able to manage workload and complete assignments in a timely manner, whether supervised or not
Must project professionalism and be a team player
Must be proficient in basic computer skills relating to data entry, email, Microsoft Word and Excel
Must live in California, Indiana or Maine to be considered for employment
