Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Biller and Account Collector to join our team! As a Medical Billing and Account Collector you will be making phone calls or sending emails to customers with outstanding debts, discussing their options for repayment, and finding a common ground so that every party is happy with the outcome. You will also be maintaining records of communications with customers and processing incoming payments and settlements. The ideal candidate has exceptional customer service skills, strong computer skills, and comfortability working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Determines appropriate charges based on services provided; performs billing.
Reviews patient accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of claims billing for appropriate maximum reimbursement.
Reviews Explanations of Benefits from third party payors to determine if payment was made correctly and if denials can be re-billed.
Analyzes and maintains reports to ensure timely submission of claims.
Provides information to insurance carriers or patients regarding patient accounts.
Assists patients with billing problems and verifies the patient’s insurance coverage.
Maintains files on all documentation such as charge slips, Explanations of Benefits, and client or patient information.
Prepares and distributes reports as requested.
Input medical coding as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Collections on patient accounts-30, 60 and 90 day collections which require payment arrangements sending out collection letters and processing payments.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 coding a plus
Qualifications
Minimum Education: High School or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 2 years combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
Minimum Field-of-Expertise: Medical services billing, experience with Medicare and private third party payers.
Preferred Experience: 1 Years
Knowledge or ability to learn Health X-net software, EHR and Practice Management Software
Knowledgeable in CPT and ICD-9/10 Coding
OSHA/HIPAA
Skills
Bilingual preferred but not necessary
Computer skills is a must
