Job Summary

Kids in Motion Pediatric Therapy located in Torrance, CA, is a multi-disciplinary Pediatric Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy provider. We employ a fun loving and hard working collaborative group of 36 therapists and 12 Admin personnel and are looking forward to meeting the newest member of our team.

We are currently seeking an experienced Collections Specialist for a full time position (40 hours per week). The start date for the position is as soon as possible.

The job responsibilities include:

Communicating with insurance carriers via phone, email or web portal to resolve unpaid or incorrectly paid claims.

Preparing and submitting appeal letters as needed.

Managing the accounts receivable to insure timely filing and follow up of past due accounts.

Other tasks to support payment of account balances as needed.

Candidates that meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

Minimum 1 year of full time equivalent experience in medical collections.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and time management.

Solid understanding of insurance benefits (i.e. deductible, copayment, co-insurance), analysis of EOB's, identification of how claims were processed/ benefits were applied to a claim and the ability to explain to a insurance claims representative what needs re-processing, etc.
