    Job Description

    The Medical Coordinator/Certified Medical Assistant (MC) is a vital team member. This role is crucial for providing high-quality, organized, and patient-centered healthcare services while supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Dungarvin’s services. Most importantly, the MC is crucial to the well-being of the people we serve.

    What You'll Do:

    • Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday in Olympia/Lacey.
    • Maintain Medical Records: Ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
    • Appointment Management: Review medical appointment summary forms and take proactive follow-up actions, including scheduling appointments, reviewing upcoming appointments, and developing a monitoring tracker. Provide assistance during medical appointments as needed.
    • Medication Oversight: Thoroughly review new or changed medications in accordance with policies.
    • Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with the Nursing Department, DDA, Pharmacy, and medical professionals. Collaborate with the Program Coordinator for timely updates to individual medical documentation.
    • Health Monitoring: Monitor health trends, promptly report concerns or changes to the Program Coordinator for collaborative planning and make recommendations based on observed trends.
    • Training and Development: Develop and implement training for DSPs/caregivers in medical-related areas and conduct re-training sessions as needed.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Develop and maintain expert knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to medical needs, guidelines, laws, etc. in the supported living field.
    • Participation in Meetings/Trainings: Participate in meetings, trainings, and client assessments to provide guidance on medical-related matters.
    • Abuse/Neglect Reporting: Adhere to guidelines and promptly report suspicions of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
    • Medical Tracking: Update and maintain accurate medical tracking information.
    • Flexibility and Additional Responsibilities: Perform other assigned duties to contribute to overall role effectiveness.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High School/Equivalent and 2 years medically based field experience; or
    • Associates Degree and 1-year field experience; or
    • Certified Medical Assistant License and 1-year field experience
