Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Litigation Paralegals Litigation Paralegals work alongside attorneys during all phases of the litigation process - mostly in federal court proceedings, from initiation of the case, through the discovery period, settlement or trial, and post-trial findings and appeals. Responsibilities: Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Analyze files and matters, determine records required to investigate and/or pursue the client’s case, and take action to obtain needed information • Review and analyze client medical records • Create client medical chronologies • Organize and maintain all legal documents in the electronic filing system for attorney review and case preparation • Assist in drafting correspondence and legal documents, including summonses and complaints, interrogatories, plaintiff profile forms, fact sheets, requests for production, and responses and settlement documents • E-filing of legal documents with the court, including summonses and complaints, affidavits of service, motions with exhibits, and memoranda of law • Assist litigation attorneys, including preparation for depositions, arbitrations, settlement plan submissions, trials, and appeals • Discovery document review to assist attorneys with finding key information needed for the prosecution of the case • Monitor the central MDL and individual case dockets in the federal court system including CMOs, PTOs, and defense filings • Assist with needed redactions in publicly filed documents • Create entries and follow a diary system to ensure cases move through the litigation process and work with attorneys to meet any case deadlines • Maintain regular telephone, email, and/or written contact with clients • Schedule interviews and meetings • Other duties as assigned Qualifications: • Strong knowledge of PC applications, Windows, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Prior Litigation experience- Federal Litigation Experience Preferred Work Environment This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Fast-paced, professional work environment. Compensation: $45,000 - $65,000 yearly
