Medical Office Administrative Assistant
Specialized Orthopaedic Services, Inc. has serviced patients in the community for 29 years with quality Orthotic and Prosthetic care. We need a team member to help our growing business continue to function with efficiency and compassion.
Position Responsibilities: • Provide the highest level of customer service to patients, fellow employees and referral sources • Obtain accurate insurance information, verification and pre-authorization • Process Hospital and Patient billing • Coordinate referrals and patient care • Advise patients of their financial responsibility and obtain payment of outstanding balances • Apply payments to patient accounts • Manage Inventory for office and clinics • Assist with quality assurance to ensure patient satisfaction • Document scanning and special projects as assigned
Qualifications: • Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills • Understanding of medical terminology and reimbursement, to include Medicare LCDs • Proficient computer skills including Windows Office (Word, Excel), e-mail and billing systems • Ability to use all necessary office equipment, facsimile, calculator, postage machine, copiers, etc. • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks • Proficiency with basic math and accounting skills • English/Spanish bilingual a plus • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent • Previous office administrative experience required; experience in medical office preferred
Pay Scale is determined by skills, responsibilities and previous experience.
