REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR MEDICAL PAYMENT POSTER:
Minimum 5 years payment posting experience (Required)
Ability to work an 8-hour shift Monday-Friday (Required)
Knowledge of MS Office, ICD9, CPT coding, and HCFA 1500 requirements (Required)
High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience in the Ambulance industry with payment posting and claims auditing experience (Not Required, but Huge Plus)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee and post all accounts receivables including refunds
Achieve optimum reimbursement for services provided
Support and enforce all company billing policies and procedures that relate to their area. Any issues with enforcement should be forwarded to the department supervisor and/or manager
Ensure all company policies, procedures, and forms comply with federal, state and local employment rules, regulations, and laws
Ensure effective quality control and that corrections takes place to achieve customer satisfaction
Ensure all services are done on a timely and cost-effective basis
OTHER DUTIES:
HIPAA compliance
Adherence to company policies and procedures
Communicating with the Supervisor any issues/problems with the department, including any possible solutions
In coordination with the other members of the management team, develop and install procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information and paper flow within the company
Performs any other duties and tasks (within reason and ability to perform said task) as assigned by the department supervisor and/or any Advantage manager or director
PAYMENT POSTER SKILLS:
Proven work experience as a Medical Payment Poster
Proficiency with computers including use of the internet, cloud-based platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Professional attitude and appearance
Solid written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Thrive in a multifunctional fast-paced environment
Excellent organizational skills
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize daily changing tasks
Familiarity with ambulance industry operations
Working knowledge of healthcare standards and regulatory guidelines
Effective and persuasive presentation skills
Maintain professionalism at all times when representing Advantage Ambulance
