    Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic dermatology practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a fast-paced front desk, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The Medical Receptionist will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment for patients, while supporting our providers and medical staff. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is essential.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Patient Reception & Scheduling:

    Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression.

    Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and verify patient information.

    Confirm appointments and follow up on cancellations or reschedules.

    Medical Record Management:

    Ensure all patient information is accurately entered, updated, and maintained in compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA).

    Insurance Verification & Billing Support:

    Verify patient insurance details.

    Collect co-pays and assist with billing inquiries or issues.

    Communication:

    Answer and direct phone calls, taking detailed messages.

    Respond to patient portal messages in a timely and courteous manner.

    Administrative Support:

    Prepare and manage patient intake forms, consent forms, and other documentation.

    Assist with inventory management for office supplies.

    Maintain a clean and organized reception area.

    Coordination with Medical Staff:

    Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure timely patient care.

    Requirements:

    Experience:

    Proven experience working as a medical receptionist, preferably in a dermatology or medical office setting.

    Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (experience with Medent is a plus).

    Skills:

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to multitask.

    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    Ability to handle a high volume of calls and patient traffic in a busy environment.

    Knowledge:

    Understanding of insurance processes.

    Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

    Occasional lifting of office supplies.
