    Job Title: Medical Receptionist - Ophthalmology/Optometry Practice

We are looking for an organized, friendly, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist.

    Position Overview: As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our practice. Your role is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the office while providing a welcoming environment for all patients. You will play an integral part in scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and assisting with various administrative tasks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

    Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring accuracy and timely reminders.

    Answer phone calls, provide information, and assist patients with inquiries.

    Manage patient intake, verify insurance, and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.

    Process patient check-ins and check-outs, collect payments, and provide receipts.

    Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

    Ensure smooth patient flow by coordinating with medical staff and handling any concerns or delays.

    Assist in managing the office’s calendar, including coordinating with providers and other staff.

    Handle patient referrals and ensure necessary documents are sent to specialists.

    Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient reception area.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).

    Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred (experience in ophthalmology or optometry is a plus).

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

    Proficient with office equipment, including computers, phones, and fax machines.

    Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software is a plus.

    Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

    A positive, professional, and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
