We are looking for a skilled Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and administrative support in a medical setting. Your role will involve interacting with patients, scheduling appointments, managing medical records, verifying insurance, and assisting in the smooth operation of the front desk. In addition, this person would work with our billing manager answering patient's billing questions, submitting appeals for denials, and monitoring providers credentialing.
Duties:
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner and with a smile
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate staff members
Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
Verify patient information and update medical records
Collect co-pays and process payments
Assist with insurance verification and claims processing
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Manage patient flow and ensure waiting areas are clean and organized
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient care
Assist with patient billing questions
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role preferred
Proficient in using computer systems and software
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with phone systems and handling multiple phone lines
