Essential Functions:
- Receive payments from patients for services rendered and prepare daily bank deposits.
- Maintain accounts receivable records and place necessary collection calls to patients and insurance companies professionally.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and obtain insurance referrals as needed.
- Enter financial transactions and miscellaneous correspondence on computer systems.
- Scan and link documents in patient records via Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Act as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Work closely with the Accounts Payable team and other relevant divisions to resolve payment issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications, including Excel, Word, and medical record applications.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, health insurance policies, and MDland/ECW.
- Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, trustworthiness, analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal communication.
- At least one year of relevant healthcare experience.
- Knowledge of medical office policies and procedures.
- Ability to interact with diverse groups and maintain patient, team member, and employer confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and maintaining accurate patient data.
