Job Overview
The Medical Technologist will be available to perform daily Hematology and Flow Cytometry processing and testing utilizing cytometer and hematology analyzer software, perform data acquisition of patient samples and perform data analysis of the processed samples.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, laboratory procedures, and the ability to work collaboratively in a hospital setting.
Duties
- Conduct laboratory tests in areas such as blood banking, clinical chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection techniques with precision and care.
- Utilize advanced techniques including DNA isolation and ELISA for various diagnostic purposes.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and safety regulations while maintaining a sterile environment.
- Manage data related to test results, ensuring accuracy in reporting and documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights for patient care.
- Participate in quality control measures to ensure the reliability of laboratory results.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or equivalent is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with laboratory procedures.
- Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of blood banking practices, including compatibility testing and transfusion protocols.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Familiarity with data management systems used in clinical laboratories.
