JOB TITLE (# R10029): Medical Technologist - Welch, WV
Must possess Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments Program (CLIA) certification.
Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Technologist for an in-house laboratory within a community hospital, located in Welch, WV.
Requirements of the Medical Technologist:
- Must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university in an accredited medical technology program; or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in the physical or natural sciences which included six hours each in biology and chemistry.
- Three years’ experience performing medical laboratory tests or registration as a Medical Technologist by the National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel; or an associate degree from an accredited college or university in an accredited medical laboratory program.
- Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing medical laboratory tests in the specified areas.

Responsibilities of the Medical Technologist:
- Advanced Laboratory Tests: Conduct complex or advanced medical laboratory tests in clinical areas such as chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, bacteriology, serology, parasitology, and blood banking to provide data for use in the treatment and diagnosis of diseases.
- Specimen Handling: Collect, cultivate, isolate, identify, and analyze specimens. Cut, stain, and mount tissue sections for microscopic analysis. Group, type, and cross-match blood for donors and recipients to ensure compatibility.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor maintenance and calibration of diagnostic equipment.
- Leadership and Training: Provide training, supervision, technical assistance, and consultation to subordinate laboratory or clinic personnel.
- Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain proper records, logs, files, and reports. Send specimens to reference laboratories as necessary.
