Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to perform a wide range of automated and non-automated laboratory procedures across various disciplines, including chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, and immunohematology. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the suitability of specimens for analysis, preparing samples while maintaining their physiological properties, and conducting tests according to established protocols.
The Medical Technologist will select, perform, evaluate, and monitor the performance of test procedures, ensuring compliance with laboratory standards. This role includes recognizing and addressing equipment malfunctions, conducting quality control procedures, calibrating instruments, and verifying correct operations. Additionally, the technologist will correlate test results with patient data, perform additional tests as needed, and report any critical findings directly to the physician. Accurate data entry into the laboratory computer system and effective management of supplies are also key responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Adherence to strict infection control protocols, including proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials and infectious specimens.
Requirement to wear appropriate PPE (gloves, masks, lab coats) while performing laboratory procedures to minimize exposure to potentially hazardous substances.
Completion of safety training programs, including topics such as chemical safety, fire safety, and emergency response procedures.
Proper training in the safe operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment to prevent accidents and ensure accurate results.
Awareness of ergonomic practices to prevent musculoskeletal injuries while performing repetitive tasks or lifting heavy materials.
Knowledge of and compliance with federal and state laboratory regulations, including those set forth by OSHA, CLIA, and other regulatory bodies.
Familiarity with emergency procedures, including the handling of spills, exposures, or other incidents that may occur in the laboratory.
