    Job Overview:

    The Medical Technologist will perform clinical laboratory generalist duties across all areas of the laboratory. This includes phlebotomy, urinalysis, coagulation, hematology, immunohematology, blood gases, microbiology, and chemistry. The incumbent will develop, perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate laboratory procedures and results, exercising independent judgment with minimal technical supervision. Other duties as assigned

    Experience Requirements:

    • A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in areas including Chemistry (endocrinology and toxicology), coagulation, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, blood gases, urinalysis, microbiology, and phlebotomy
    • Proficiency in manual and automated procedures, including moderate and complex analyses
    • Experience in developing, performing, evaluating, interpreting, correlating, and validating the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results
    • Proficiency in testing procedures on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated techniques, requiring a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility
    • Medical Technologists must demonstrate a commitment to patient safety by actively preventing injuries related to acts of commission or omission in the delivery of care
    • Experience in following established patient safety and infection control standards of care

    Experience Preferences:

    • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

    Education Requirements:

    • A Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory science or a related field
    • Must be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Board of Certification, or Board of Registry, or by American Medical Technologists or American Association of Bioanalytic
    • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Must provide documents upon request to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certifications, and/or licensure related to the provision of laboratory services
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in laboratory skills and be able to communicate effectively

    Education Preferences:

    • A master's degree in medical laboratory science or a related field is a plus.

    Schedule:

    • Monday to Sunday, including days, evenings, and night shifts.
    • Day shifts: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
    • Evening shifts: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, 2:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
    • Night shifts: 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM and 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
    • Full-time employees (FTE) must complete a minimum of 80 hours biweekly, does not include holidays
    • The minimum number of Board-Certified laboratory staff required on-site daily is 8
    • The Service Provider is responsible for ensuring coverage during personnel absences due to sick leave, personal leave, and vacations
