    As a Medicare Sales Support Manager, you will be responsible for driving and delivering growth and retention results for our Medicare Advantage program. This includes leading sales channel escalations, communication, and training related to Medicare Advantage. You will develop and oversee short and long-term strategic roadmaps to ensure success in member acquisition and retention while also guaranteeing compliance with regulatory requirements through. This will involve collaboration with various stakeholders including internal sales teams, external brokers, compliance, legal, network management, market solutions, customer experience, data analytics, and external joint venture partners. Lastly, you will provide leadership as a subject matter expert of Medicare Advantage in service of internal sales teams and external brokers.

You have strong critical thinking skills allowing for the ability to successfully leverage data to drive decisions and optimize outcomes. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities at any given time.     • *This position will work a hybrid schedule of at least 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in Wellmark's Des Moines office, with 2 days remote option.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Preferred:

    • 3+ years of experience working within Medicare Advantage sales & distribution, including working with brokers and members.

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience.
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in the development & management of strategic programs, which includes leading projects from ideation through execution and working in a highly matrixed environment with both internal and external partners, including senior leadership.
    • In depth knowledge of Medicare Advantage sales strategies & distribution.
    • Deep knowledge and understanding of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations related to sales, distribution, and marketing.
    • Excellent analytical skills, data management capabilities, and strong attention to detail. Ability to review data and provide measurable outcomes and trend measures to support and influence business decisions.
    • Demonstrated success understanding the needs of others, asking meaningful questions, influencing decisions, developing solutions, and promoting collaboration.
    • Willingness to take an innovative, creative approach to solving problems and developing solutions.
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and a strong technical aptitude to learn new data management and analysis tools or methodologies quickly.
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical and strategic thinking skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to consult and share technical insights and recommendations with varying stakeholder audiences, including senior leadership. Demonstrated abilities in developing training and writing formal communications for external distribution.
    • Self-starter motivated by the opportunity to work in fast-paced environments and driven by measurable outcomes.
    • Effective time management with flexibility and adaptability to change.
    • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills. Ability to manage multiple projects while adjusting to changing priorities and business needs.
    • Active life and health insurance license, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
    • Ability to travel as needed, primarily locally within market.

    Additional Information

    a. Develop short and long-term strategic roadmaps for success within the membership acquisition and retention with consideration of future market changes.

    b. Lead execution of strategic roadmap including gaining approval of the roadmap, securing necessary resources, and funding, and working with cross-functional areas to deliver upon approved initiatives.

    c. Create, implement, and execute new operational procedures for agent escalations and marketing material review.

    d. Identify opportunities for training internal and external teams, and work with various functional areas to develop and deliver training content.

    e. Manage within a complex, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders including internal sales, external brokers, compliance, legal, network management, product, customer experience, data analytics, and external joint venture partners.

    f. Partner with internal teams and associated external partners to ensure strategies are achieving KPIs and performance goals.

    g. Analyze data to identify insights and opportunities for performance improvements, assess effectiveness of strategies and deliver actionable recommendations for performance improvement.

    h. Evaluate efficacy of sales and distribution strategies using qualitative and quantitative analysis from all available sources.

    i. Manage programs and strategies from ideation through execution and monitor for continuous improvement.

    j. Serve as a subject matter expert in Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules and regulations related to sales, distribution, and marketing.

    k. Keep the organization up to date on regulation changes from CMS.

    l. Other duties as assigned.
