RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Supports power systems and electrical equipment related to the production, processing, metering and shipping of oil, gas, water, and steam.
- Maintains electrical reliability metrics, monitor & track events, identify & develop reliability improvement opportunities.
- Conducts or participates on Root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) discussions
- Identifies opportunities, participates in or is directly responsible for electrical system improvement projects from the design to the construction phase.
- Researches, shares & implements best practices
- Responsible for providing input to planning future system needs and improvements, and implementing maintenance and construction design projects, from design to construction.
- Oversee, coordinate and review the work of contract electrical engineering design and electrical construction contractors to ensure projects are installed in accordance with Aera Standards and Specification and Local, State and Federal Codes.
- Prepares or reviews plans and specifications for the procurement, construction and installation of electrical equipment.
- Researches and identifies project design requirements; performs calculations and prepares estimates of time, labor and material costs and prepares expenditure (AFE’s) requests for management approval.
- Monitors work in progress, including field inspection and investigations, to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications and standards; ensures contractors compiles and maintains as-built records of approved projects.
- Performs electrical loadflow/short circuit/arc-flash/coordination studies using the ETAP software.
Required Skills
- Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills on power systems, 480 kV to 115 kV
- Technical analysis skills to identify process improvement opportunities
- Must be able to read and comprehend blue-line drawings such as: one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, elementaries, wiring termination drawings, control schematics, etc.
- In depth understanding of ET&D system equipment, such as: distribution substations, autotransformers, distribution transformers, high-voltage capacitor banks, electrical switchgear (vacuum circuit breakers, SF₆circuit breakers, circuit switchers, reclosers, etc.), associated control equipment, and protective relaying equipment/applications.
- Detailed knowledge and familiarity with the following regulations and standards: NEC, NESC, GO-95, and OSHA 1910.269
- Experience with project economic evaluation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to ensure milestones are met.
- Ability to work effectively in cross functional (operations, management, engineering, financial) teams.

Required Experience
- Minimum of 3 years engineering experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power concentration preferred).
- Experience with power engineering analysis software ( ETAP preferred)
