We are seeking to hire a motivated SOFTWARE TEAM LEADER to join our collaborative, high growth organization located at our office based in LANE COVE, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA.
The Software Team Leader will impact the organization by leading and working alongside a team of experienced and talented software engineers to deliver world-leading access device technology to a global customer base
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of experienced engineers
- Drive the development of high quality, bug free and secure products
- Contribute to the roadmap and program of works for the software team and then plan, motivate and manage delivery of development program
- Understand and contribute to the technical solution from design and architecture through to code level
- Promote innovation in the core technologies, systems and frameworks used in all areas of software development
- Define and develop automated quantitative performance analysis for monitoring and improving efficiency and output of the team
- Support team members via code review, design review, mentoring, and information and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and up to date.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering field (electronics, software, computer science, etc.).
- 7+ years software engineering experience.
- 3+ years team leadership experience.
- Significant background in hands on software development in a variety of relevant languages (C/C++, Lua, Shell, Python, etc).
- Knows computer networking from top-to-bottom and inside-out (IP networks, routing protocols, VPNs, etc).
- Experience with digital data communications concepts and protocols, such as those based on ETSI standards and ITU standards (e.g. LTE (4G/5G), Ethernet, DSL, GPON) is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Experience with M2M/IoT is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Expert knowledge of Linux (experience with embedded Linux preferred).
- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to problem solving.
- Adaptable and flexible to work in a dynamic environment.
- Willing to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
