Melara Enterprises is seeking a talented and motivated Part-time Proposal Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and submission of proposals for state, federal, and corporate contracts. As a Proposal Writer, you will work closely with our sales, marketing, and leadership teams to create compelling proposals that effectively communicate our capabilities, expertise, and value proposition to prospective clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researching and understanding the requirements of state, federal, and corporate RFPs (Request for Proposals) that fit our competencies.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts, sales teams, and leadership to gather information and insights necessary for proposal development.
- Writing clear, concise, and persuasive proposal content that addresses client needs and showcases X Company's strengths and capabilities.
- Creating visually appealing proposal layouts and incorporating graphics, charts, and other visual elements to enhance readability and comprehension.
- Ensuring all proposals are submitted on time and meet all specified requirements and formatting guidelines and assisting with responses to any follow-up questions and requests.
- Maintaining a repository of proposal content, templates, and best practices to streamline the proposal development process.
- Participating in proposal debrief sessions to gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to proposal writing and procurement processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (preferred) or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in proposal writing, preferably in a similar industry or within government contracting.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to synthesize complex information into clear and compelling proposals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with proposal management software/tools (e.g., Adobe, Proposal Software).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
This is a part-time position with flexible hours, offering the opportunity to perform work remotely with occasional onsite meetings as needed.
