Mental Health Clinician: Women’s SUD Treatment Center (CSAC or Graduate Student)

A Mental Health Clinician is needed at an inpatient women’s substance abuse treatment center in Charlottesville, VA.

Our client is a long-standing non-profit behavioral health organization that focuses on patients first, providing a full scope of behavioral health services to all ages in outpatient, inpatient, and crisis stabilization settings.

This position is for their new residential substance abuse treatment center for women. The program houses 12 women at a time for up to 120 days, and if the patient has small children, she is allowed to have up to two babies staying with her (up to school age).

Salary and Benefits

• Starting hourly rate: $22 to $30 an hour (depending on experience)

• Schedule is 4x10s, either Wed-Sat or Sun-Wed. Schedule times are either 8a to 6p, 9a-7p, or 10a-8p.

Responsibilities

• 40 hours per week (full-time)
• Provide counseling to clients in individual and group settings and facilitate support groups. The treatment center houses a maximum of 12 women at a time for 90 to 120 days. Each woman, if necessary, may bring up to two babies with her during her stay, ages 0 to school age. Some women may be pregnant.
• Provide family counseling as needed
• Assist in implementation and development of clients individualized service plan (ISP) as well as advocacy and connection between client and outside recovery resources.

Requirements

• CSAC OR pursuing master’s degree in related field and eligible for internship/practicum experience.
• Bachelors degree in relevant field.
• Knowledge of alcoholism, addiction, withdrawal symptoms, triage, case management, interviewing techniques, crisis intervention and community resources.
• Full-time role (40 hours per week)
• Virginia Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
