    ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

    Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes housing, mental health, medical, youth justice, education & employment, and community services. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    This position provides direct clinical mental health services and intensive collateral support to youth who are involved in Ramsey County Juvenile Probation services and their families. This position will work in close partnership with Face to Face’s Youth Justice Program and Ramsey County Juvenile Probation. The position is full-time at 37.5 hours a week. Scheduling is flexible. Must be willing to meet with youth on-site, in their homes, and in community settings.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct intake interviews with seriously and persistently mentally ill clients or their families; confer with other mental health professionals to assess client needs and to make appropriate referrals.
    • Provide direct clinical mental health services and intensive collateral support to justice-involved youth.
    • Assist in preparing court-ordered clinical evaluations of families and individuals to assist the courts in case disposition. May testify in legal proceedings in the capacity of expert witness if so, designated by the court.
    • Document case activities by charting care activities, maintaining statistics and corresponding through memorandum and letter to other service providers.
    • Provide therapy services which may occur in a drop-in, in-home, clinic, probation office, juvenile detention center, telehealth, or community setting.
    • Provide close collaboration and partnership with Face to Face’s Youth Justice Program.
    • Build relationships and develop rapport necessary to engage youth in mental health services in the youth justice program.
    • Establish healthy and appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with youth and their families and provide services in a culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate manner.
    • Provide services in a cultural responsive and linguistically appropriate manner.
    • Provides all services guided by the 9 evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness.
    • Participate in program staff meetings to provide a mental health lens and clinical insight to situations, youth, and larger system needs.
    • Attend Ramsey County Juvenile Justice Case Consult meetings monthly and submit monthly reports in compliance with contract reporting requirements.
    • Attend and participate in Ramsey County staff meetings, team consultation and supervision as required.
    • Meet grant-specific productivity standards/target as set by department manager and supervisor.
    • Keep up to date with current changes in the field through supervision, appropriate conferences, training, in-services and reading.
    • Practice and uphold the ethical guidelines of your licensing board.
    • Uphold agency written policies concerning employment, client confidentiality, minor consent law, drug-free workplace, ethical standards, and other policies of the agency.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, or other field that qualifies for designation as a Licensed Mental Health Professional under State law.

    • Experience: None.

    • Substitution: Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral science or related field and completion of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields.

    • Certifications/Licensure: None.

    • Experience with justice-involved youth, probation, or restorative justice.

    • Knowledge of Diagnostic Assessments, treatment planning and billing for psychotherapy.

    • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, current automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record required.

    • Must be able to travel in MN weather conditions to see clients in home settings as needed.
    • May need to transport clients at times.
    • Face to Face is subject to the government mandate requiring employee COVID vaccination and/or weekly testing. All employees will be required to get vaccinated or submit to weekly COVID testing.

    BENEFITS:

    The pay rate for this position is between $35-37 an hour, based on qualifications and licensure. Face to Face offers benefits which include health, dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, 403b account as well as 23 days of PTO and 11 paid holidays.
