- Schedule: Full-time, year-round. M-F, 8am-4pm

Job Description:
The Mental Health Professional position works closely with the Guidance Counselor and School Principal to provide a system of mental health supports to students at the school district. Emphasis is placed on crisis intervention, de-escalation, behavior medication, teacher consultation, mental health counseling and interventions. This position supports students in managing life stressors and challenges through evidence-based programs and practices.
- Develop, write and direct the implementation of therapeutic support plans for students experiencing mental health struggles.
- Provide consultation with all involved parties including family, school, and community members.
- Assess referred students and families for needs and refer to other providers, as needed.
- Provide de-escalation and counseling to students in crisis and emotional distress.
- Offer group and individual counseling, as needed.
- Conduct assessments and design behavior / crisis plans. Design, implement, and monitor behavioral modification plans, as needed.
- Participate in the Student Assistance Program (SAP), as needed to identify student needs, to support a team approach to helping students and to avoid duplication of services.
- Maintain contact with families and school personnel to ensure communication, collaboration, and the provision of an appropriate level/type of intervention to meet student needs.
What You Bring:
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
- Previous experience working with children in a mental health or behavioral health setting
- Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships, understand the challenges faced by low-income, at-risk populations and have a passion for working with children and adolescents experiencing emotional and/or behavioral struggles
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks as well as exhibit a knowledge of community resources and referrals.
- Current clearances (within 6 months)
