SUMMARY:
Performs All Jobs Relating to the Shops Deburr/Finishing Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
The metal finisher performs the following duties on a wide range of sheet metal products. Work is performed under supervision of the shop lead.
Follow job schedule to perform operations to polish and remove burrs from a variety of fabricated parts.
Assist with the assignment of jobs to the Finishing Departments personnel.
Reading and interpreting blueprints.
Manual polishing and metal finishing.
Use of powdered devices for polishing and metal finishing including sanders, grinders, drills and other tools to complete job.
Use of special tools to remove burrs from critical areas.
Inspect own work, correct and report detected discrepancies to shop lead.
Maintain an organized and clean work area.
Maintain necessary reports and move parts to the next order of operations.
Report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conduct to shop lead.
Follow safety, quality and environmental processes of the company.
QUALIFICAITONS
Experience with metal finishing
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to learn to perform job assignments.
Ability to read or learn to read blueprints
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
