OUR OPENING AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Our R&D team is searching for an individual to fill an EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER role. Reporting to our Hardware Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for the embedded software development and integration with electronics for a series of analytical instruments and devices and will lead all development phases of embedded engineering from architectural design to implementation and testing.
Responsibilities will include:
Developing embedded Linux distributions, board support packages, device drivers and applications for MT’s embedded ARM/x86 based hardware products
Performing project planning, feasibility and costs estimation activities of custom software projects
Providing support and guidance to the systems development teams to create complete product solutions
Advancing embedded development techniques and infrastructure to include dev ops pipelines, automated unit testing, continuous integration, cloud based tools, etc.
Developing the software to interfaces modules, servers, PCs, and peripherals to the instrument. Integrate software libraries and drivers provided by external partners and team members.
Generating embedded software code, conduct internal design reviews for performance, testability, manufacturability and serviceability
Collaborating with hardware and software engineers and scientists to enable prototyping and development of software interfaces in parallel with hardware design and verification
Working with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and product managers, investigate new technologies and concepts for future product improvements or development
Maintaining continuous integration infrastructure – unit test frameworks, hardware based automated testing tools, dev ops pipelines, manufacturing test tooling
Designing for manufacturability and modularity under the processes and procedures set in place and in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 and ATEX Annex VII (ATEX 94/9/EC, 13980)
Providing customer support for product design related to software/firmware problems or special applications
Troubleshooting software/firmware defects, analyze and solve complex technical problems and implement and test bug fixes
