    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

     

    Monitor and schedule the ACE Transmission Program for Dole Ocean Cargo Express, ensuring an accurate and timely transmission of manifest information to US Customs, in order to comply with the required information at the specific time.

    ***BILINGUAL(ENGLISH/SPANISH) PREFERRED

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

    • Provide support with ocean carrier and marine terminal regulatory compliance processes, monitoring and assuring the availability of accurate and timely regulatory information in the specific system, in order to send and comply with US customs requirements.
    • Update, distribute and follow up the daily ACE Transmission Program schedule to all divisions, in order to obtain the correct information in a timely manner.
    • Channel ACE Transmission discrepancies, maintaining communication with agencies & offices about the information provided, delays or other aspects, in order to resolve issues and assure a timely arrival of loads.
    • Coordinate and file all hazardous requests with each division, validating if it’s possible to carry or not the materials on the loads according the established guidelines, in order to comply with US Customs procedures.
    • Notify, coordinate and log to master ACE Transmission schedule all "Do Not Load" notifications with each division. Follow-up and confirm each “Do Not Load” notification is properly closed or released with US Customs.
    • Maintain "New Customer Advise" log for DOCE’s C-TPAT records in order to comply with the certifications. Coordinate security training classes and maintain security training log ensuring all respective classes are successfully completed by divisions.
    • Maintain "Breakbulk Exemption" log, in order to assure the availability of the information 24 hours prior to the cargo's arrival.
    • Order the office supplies required, in order to assure the availability of the products needed.

    Required Skills

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS)

    • 5+ years in International Documentation.
    • Knowledge of FMC/Vessel Operating Common Carrier regulatory field
    • Background in Import/Export documentation and traffic management.
    • Extensive familiarity with International geography.
    • Detail oriented with strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to interface professionally with all levels of management and government officials.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Ability to work nights and weekends as regularly required.
    • Knowledge of IBM AS400 operating program (preferred)
    • BI-LINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH (PREFERRED)
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

     

    • High School diploma

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Able to function in an industrial environment, including the ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to answer phones and utilize a variety of office equipment.
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. and reach overhead.
