    For Water Street Mission (WSM) to fulfill its mission and purpose, it is critical for all staff to participate in the development and maintenance of a healthy Christian Community. By living out our faith with one another and creating a space where our guests are invited to experience that community with us, we participate in lives being restored.

    Even as some positions have minimal direct contact with guests, each staff member has an essential role in forming and maintaining Christian community. The love of Christ, evidenced in our Water Street community, is the real impetus for change with our guests.

    Job Summary:

    Are you a people person? Do you keep in touch with family and friends and remember birthdays or special occasions? Use your people skills as a full-time Mid-Level and Monthly Partner Ambassador to help provide consistent financial resources needed to give hope and a hand up to Lancaster County's most vulnerable men, women, and children.

    As a Partner Ambassador on the Advancement Team, you will cultivate relationships with our mid-level and monthly partners through phone calls, texts, mail, email, and events. We build relationships with each of these groups of partners by showing appreciation, offering encouragement, providing education about our work, and nurturing the joy of giving.

    The effective Mid-Level and Monthly Partner Ambassador also assists in the strategic development and execution of strategies to acquire, retain and upgrade mid-level and monthly donors. They also assist in the strategic development and execution of strategies to prevent donors from lapsing, as well as managing communication activities and tracking/reporting key performance indicators (KPI) for each group.

    All Water Street Mission staff must be:

    • Willing to sign the Water Street Ministries' Statement of Faith
    • A current and active member and/or regular attendee of a local church.
    • Able to fully support the Water Street Mission's core values and ministry philosophy.

    Essential Functions:

    Culture and Values

    • Share the Good News of Jesus Christ in words and actions with people we serve, communicating hope and dignity.
    • Walk alongside fellow WSM staff in Christian community as we journey toward maturity.
    • Encourage restoration in the lives of coworkers and guests, recognizing we are each restored by God to become restorers.
    • Work in full coordination with other WSM staff at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of guests.

    Role Specific Responsibilities:

    Assist in Strategy Development

    • Developing a unique and attractive multi-channel strategy for mid-level and monthly donor acquisition, retention, and upgrade in collaboration with the Senior VP of Advancement and Director of Marketing.
    • Establishing and evaluating KPIs regularly to determine program effectiveness and to identify adjustments needed. Providing regular reports on the progress of the program.
    • Staying abreast of industry best practices in mid-level, monthly partner management. Recommending changes to the program to incorporate these best practices as needed.

    Guide Implementation Efforts

    • Implementing and managing mid-level, monthly donor program strategy.
    • Identifying and building strong relationships with mid-level donors via telephone, email, mail, and events to increase awareness, engagement, and consequently, revenue.
    • Reviewing and utilizing wealth screening as preparation for donor upgrade efforts to major level
    • Executing mass-market outreach plans that demonstrate appreciation, recognition, and engagement of mid-level and monthly donors

    Fostering Collaboration

    • Collaborating on messaging for prospect communications
    • Working closely with major gift officers to assist in the cultivation of potential major donors and planned giving prospects
    • Reporting to, and collaborating with, the Director of Marketing in strategic direction and execution.
    • Managing project budgets in collaboration with the Director of Marketing.
    • Managing and coaching a hybrid team of internal and external volunteers for large calling campaigns
    • Entering donor contact information and other moves management components into CRM database. Providing related reports to team members and management.

    Other Pertinent Responsibilities

    • Establish a mechanism to receive and report regular feedback from donors. Addressing concerns and challenges related to mid-level and monthly donor programs to ensure ongoing support of Water Street Mission.
    • Managing daily contact and communication project schedule, meeting or exceeding goals set in partnership with the Director of Marketing for calls per week on top of thank you letter responsibilities.
    • Regularly reviewing program activities to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
    • Attending events that pertain to donor groups

    Education and Experience:

    • Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service
    • Possess creativity, curiosity, and flexibility in approach to communications solutions
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to express self effectively and concisely, especially by phone.
    • Comfortable communicating via recorded and live video.
    • Strong ability to listen compassionately and probe effectively to establish a good rapport with donors that leads to support of Water Street Mission. Ability to express passion for the work of Water Street Mission and our guests.
    • Proven strong analytical and research skills with the ability to “tell a story” from the numbers and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to produce reports on items such as KPI progress, donor journeys, implementation plans, and presentations
    • Ability to review, assess, and understand financial reports and wealth data
    • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to also use these skills to provide effective hands-on communication project management along with shepherding a personal donor portfolio
    • Sound professional and social judgement in building relationships with internal and external colleagues.
    • Ability to identify the potential for mid-level donor program growth
    • Attention to detail and proofreading skills

    The ideal Mid-Level and Monthly Partner Ambassador will possess:

    • Motivation to see the lives of hurting men, women, and children restored.
    • Passion for connecting with Water Street Mission's partners
    • Bachelor's degree in the relevant communication, marketing, or ministry field
    • Minimum of two years' experience in a customer service-related position or ideally in sales or donor development
    • Knowledge or strong experience with Lancaster County Christian community is a plus.
    • Intermediate to expert level proficiency in working with CRM databases including moves management, report queries, and more.
    • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
    • Experience with email and texting platforms
    • Person of integrity who can present strong character and employment references
    • Be able and willing to share the Gospel and participate in the ministry activities of Water Street Mission.
    • Subscribe to the Water Street Mission Statement of Faith and Qualifications of Employment upon hire and continuously while employed.
    • Adhere to the Water Street Mission Employee Handbook.
