Key Responsibilities:
Instruction:
Teach mathematics concepts aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
Develop and deliver lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and levels.
Use a variety of teaching methods (e.g., group activities, hands-on learning) to ensure student engagement and understanding.
Assessment:
Create and administer tests, quizzes, and assignments to assess student progress.
Provide timely feedback to students on their work and performance.
Track and report student progress, identifying areas for improvement and providing support as needed.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a disciplined and respectful classroom environment.
Establish clear rules and procedures for students.
Encourage positive behavior and foster collaboration among students.
Collaboration:
Work with other teachers, administrators, and staff to support student learning.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
Share best practices and resources with colleagues.
Professional Development:
Continuously improve teaching practices through workshops, courses, and other professional development opportunities.
Stay current on new math teaching strategies, curriculum changes, and educational technology.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, or a related field is preferred
Experience: Previous experience teaching middle school math or relevant internships/student teaching experience.
Skills:
Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and ability to explain them clearly.
Classroom management skills.
Ability to assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
Strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff.
Proficiency in educational technology (e.g., interactive whiteboards, learning management systems, online assessment tools).
Working Environment:
school hours, Monday through Thursday 7:30-4 Friday 7:30-12:30
