****ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides patient care in a specified number of clinic sessions per week and takes calls for intrapartum patient care
• Provides primary care in an ambulatory setting to women, including ordering and evaluation of diagnostic tests and management of minor complications
• Works cooperatively with other Certified Nurse-Midwives and Physicians for cross coverage of patients, both outpatient and inpatient, when appropriate
• Provides inpatient obstetrical care for essentially healthy women including labor management, delivery of infant, repair of laceration/episiotomies and management of minor complications. Initiates emergency care as needed
• Provides individualized client teaching and counseling utilizing the nurse-midwifery philosophy
• Identifies deviations from normal and consults, co-manages or refers as appropriate
• Participates in continuing education including the review of polices and procedures and program development
• Participates in continuing education & committees as assigned
• May be asked to precept students in training (i.e. CNM, RN, APN, MD)
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience highly preferred, no new grads considered
• Must love building relationships with patients, value bedside manner, and possess excellent clinical skills
• Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations
• State nurse licensure and board certification is required
