Overview The position is responsible for providing high-quality, customer-oriented administrative assistance to the HR department and team. Responsibilities * Ensure accurate and timely updates into the Firm's HR system, Workday. Create and maintain employee electronic files; upload photos. * Oversee the successful on-boarding of new employee's joining the NY offices including coordinating the New Employee Orientation program. Create training schedule; reserve conference room; put together orientation packets; update new arrival portal page;send out daily Start/Depart list; send out new employee orientation feedback survey * Maintain the Firm's Seamless Web account and ensure that employees are added or terminated from the program. * Administer the Firm's service award program; prepare letters, portal announcements and order gifts. * Maintain the Human Resources intranet page with current forms and documents including making revisions to the electronic Handbook when there are policy changes. * Respond to request for employment verifications from employees and banks. * Track department vacation schedules and distribute monthly. Update annual firm-wide holiday calendars on the HR portal * Process invoices in Chrome River and track expenses. * Coordinate various employee functions for the NY office such as the annual staff appreciation gift/party, Legal Aid Society Toy Drive, etc * Provide general administrative assistance to the Human Resources department and the Director of Human Resources such as answering phones, opening mail maintaining electronic files, printing and faxing. * Other projects and responsibilities as they are assigned from time to time. Qualifications * A High School degree required. A college degree in Human Resources preferred * 1-2 years' office experience required * Must be able to demonstrate an interest in wanting a career in Human Resources * Must be computer savvy and have strong computer skills in Word and Excel * Must be congenial, exhibit professionalism and have good interpersonal skills * Must possess strong organization and attention to detail skills * Must have strong oral and written communication skills * Be a proactive, self-starter and have strong client service orientation * Be a team-player, able to take direction and be a quick-learner * Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information * Must be able to apply good judgment * Must be flexible for ovetime as needed Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP - 17 hours ago - save job - original job Apply Now Apply On Company Site Save this job
