SOFTWARE DEVELOPER BOOTCAMP PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Miles Technologies offers an introductory boot camp program focused on web-based software development. The program will be divided into 2 main curriculum - 1 focusing on database design & development using Microsoft SQL Server and 1 on web development using HTML, CSS and Javascript. The program will run for 8 weeks with classes twice a week (Monday & Thursday) in the evenings to prevent conflict with existing employment. Participants will be expected to attend all classes, complete assigned homework and then take midterm & final exams. A Certificate of Completion will be provided to all candidates who successfully complete the program. At the end of the training program, students that excel may be offered employment or internship if an opening exists.
SCHEDULE / CLASSES
THIS BOOT CAMP WILL RUN FOR 13 SESSIONS.
Classes will be held for instructors & students EVERY MONDAY AND THURSDAY FROM 5:30-8:00 using an online interactive platform.
BELOW IS A SUMMARY OF THE TOPICS TO BE COVERED.
WEEKS 1 - 3: Database Design & Development. Concepts to be Covered: Intro to SQL & Entities, Relationships, Querying, Joins & Relationships, Functions, Stored Procedures, TSQL Language.
WEEKS 4 - 7: Introduction to Web Development using HTML, CSS and Javascript. Concepts to be covered: Basic HTML, Basic CSS, Responsive Web Design Principles, Basic Javascript, Basic Data Structures using Javascript.
COST:
This program is provided free of charge to candidates who meet the prerequisites and are invited by MT to attend. Miles Technologies provides this service to the community to help increase the awareness and skill level in the technology industry to help advance our entire surrounding area in these fields.
IDEAL STUDENT / PREREQUISITES:
This program is geared towards people who are interested in a career as a full-time Software Developer, or those in the IT field who want to expand their understanding and practical knowledge of software development concepts.
The MT boot camp program assumes that students will already have a basic knowledge of databases and developing code, gained through a college program (e.g. MIS or Computer Science), practical work experience (e.g. Web Development, IT, or Software Development), or self-driven learning (e.g. online or other learning programs).
YOU SHOULD BE WILLING AND ABLE TO DEDICATE 50 HOURS FOR THE SCHEDULED CLASSES AND 50-100 HOURS FOR OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM WORK.
