POSITION SUMMARY
The Ministry Database Manager is responsible for the oversight, maintenance, and support of the church’s database systems, ensuring that ministry data is accurate, secure, and effectively utilized to support church operations, events, communication, and engagement. This role collaborates closely with ministry leaders, providing training and support, assisting with event set-ups and check-ins, and offering technical assistance across multiple platforms—all while upholding the mission and values of the church.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ
2. Must align with the beliefs, values, and mission of First Baptist Atlanta
3. Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer Science, or a related field
4. 3+ years of database administration or CRM management experience; nonprofit or ministry context preferred
5. Experience with Ministry Platform, or other church management systems
6. Strong understanding of relational database structures, reporting, and data stewardship best practices
7. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple ministry support projects simultaneously
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to train and support users of varying technical ability
9. Commitment to confidentiality, data security, and stewardship of member and ministry information
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Maintain and manage the church’s database system, ensuring data accuracy, security, and accessibility
- Create, update, and manage events within the database, including setting up check-in systems for ministry and church-wide events
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database users across departments and ministries
- Build and distribute reports to support ministry operations, leadership decision-making, and communication efforts
- Manage database permissions, workflows, and data entry standards
- Train and assist staff and volunteers in the effective use of the database systems
- Collaborate with IT, Communications, and ministry teams to support data-driven projects and initiatives
- Maintain documentation for database processes, workflows, and training materials
- Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection policies
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Contribute to cross-functional tech projects that enhance the digital infrastructure of the church
- Participate in staff meetings and church-wide ministry events as needed
- Provide check-in technical support for Life Group and ministry events
- Assist Life Group volunteers with technical needs related to check-in and group management
- Support livestream initiatives (such as book giveaways or registrations) with technical database integration as needed
- Offer technical support for other ministry-related software applications.
- Stay current with database technology updates and recommend improvements or enhancements
- Tithes income to the church
- Standard schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with occasional additional hours required to support ministry events and activities
