    Purpose

    The Mobile Family Coach may perform their duties through a home visit or mobile approach using technology. The Coach will offer the Parents as Teachers curriculum to at-risk families with children (prenatal, babies, and toddlers) to ensure that all children are safe, healthy, and meeting developmental milestones. The successful candidate will be certified as a Parents as Teachers evidence-based curriculum user. Other duties include planning and facilitating monthly Group Connections on various topics.

    Basic Job Duties

    • Attend training to become Certified as a Parents as Teachers curriculum user. • Plan and conduct weekly contacts with clients via phone calls, text messages, mailouts or in-person visits using the Parents as Teachers curriculum-based activities, methods, and materials.

    • Provide early detection and developmental screening services to children from birth to 18 months of age.

    • Monitor client caseload and record child’s developmental progress

    • Maintain accurate records of all visits, contacts, screenings, resource linkages and data input of progress and required report

    • Maintain client confidentiality and integrity in keeping with agency policies, practices, professional standards and program requirements.

    • Acquire knowledge and expertise of various database systems.

    • Participate in community outreach events as needed and required.

    • Attend agency staff meetings as necessary and required.

    • Perform all other duties as assigned and adhere to ongoing policies, program standards and supervisory directives.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications Required:

    • Social Worker(s) licensure eligible or licensed for Alabama practice with a BSW or MSW from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education with related experience in care coordination, accessing resources, and case management with low-income populations. OR • Other degrees will be considered with three or more years of case management, accessing resources and coordinating care with low-income populations.

    Skills Required:

    • Ability to receive supervision and work independently, problem solve, and be solution-oriented.

    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive rapport with children born through age 3 and their parents; effectively communicate developmental issues to families.

    • Knowledge and skill in working with diverse populations

    • Display a positive, outgoing, and flexible professional demeanor and be resourceful, non-judgmental, and tactful in dealing with both children and adults.

    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from parents or the community.

    • Demonstrate good organizational skills.

    • Ability to write reports, and correspondence and maintain accurate records.

    • Ability to perform CPR and First Aid.

    • Intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word. Must be proficient in the use of social media direct messaging, texting, and video or chat calls using Facebook Messenger, Apple Facetime or video calling on an Android platform

    • Must pass a background check and drug testing.

    • Must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license, provide transportation, and have a clean DMV report.
