The Role
As an Architectural Modeler, you will play a key role in the Sustaining Engineering team, ensuring that current product versions are maintained, improved, and optimized for fabrication and construction. You will be responsible for the ongoing development, refinement, and coordination of architectural models to support production, improve efficiency, and resolve issues that arise post-release.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain highly detailed, coordinated BIM Revit and SolidWorks 3D models, fully integrated with Structural and MEP disciplines, in collaboration with in-house teams.
- Develop and update documentation, including permit sets, shop drawings, and construction plans, to reflect improvements and optimizations.
- Ensure the coordination and detailing of building elements for efficient factory production and on-site construction.
- Support validation of BIM solutions and manage the transfer of information between Revit and SolidWorks.
- Analyze and resolve issues with existing models, incorporating design improvements for efficiency and quality enhancement.
- Develop and maintain project templates, browser structures, and BIM methodologies.
- Provide updates to the team lead and key stakeholders on task progress and deliverables.
- Work closely with the Fabrication and Build & Install (B&I) teams to support the initial build and sustained lifecycle of product versions.
- Assist in documenting lessons learned and implementing feedback loops for continuous improvement.
- Support the entire product lifecycle by maintaining accurate and up-to-date models for active projects.
Must-Have Skills and Competencies
- Highly Proficient in Revit modeling methodologies, including expertise in creating highly detailed and coordinated models for architectural and fabrication purposes.
- Strong familiarity with the BIM collaborative environment and integration of multiple disciplines.
- Proven ability to integrate architectural designs with structural and MEP components in a seamless and coordinated manner.
- Ability to understand technical drawings, plans, and construction details.
- Experience in creating and maintaining fabrication drawings and detailed construction sets.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on organization, methodical work processes, and responsibility.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling clear and effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in multidisciplinary environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address complex challenges.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
Education & Experience:
- Associates degree or in Architecture, Structural Engineering or Mechanical Eng, or a formal certificate from a known establishment.
- Advanced user with 2+ years of proven, recent Revit experience in construction-related roles.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Competencies
These skills, competencies, and qualifications would set you, as a candidate, apart but are not required for the role.
- Experience with digital fabrication techniques and their integration into Revit workflows.
- Familiarity with SW modeling techniques and PDM.
- Experience in system coordination (for example, via NavisWorks)
- Familiarity with California Building Codes.
- Familiarity with US standards for submittals, plans, and calculation packages.
Compensation
Offers are based on a combination of experience, skills, and location. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000 annually for Hayward, CA.
