We are looking for a detail-oriented mortgage underwriter to grow with our team! You’ll be responsible for analyzing and verifying real estate loan applications while evaluating risks and making loan decisions. The ideal applicant has a thorough understanding of the latest industry trends and is able to organize and prioritize their tasks efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities: • Review all mortgage applications and supporting documents to ensure all necessary information is included for approval • Make sure that after information is collected that it is correct, compliance standards are met, and it is in alignment with company policies • Search clients’ employment and financial histories thoroughly to determine accuracy of all documentation • Send requests as needed for any additional information that will help determine loan risk • Document in detail reasons for approving or rejecting a loan for our loan officers and clients • Communicate proactively with our Loan Officers and Processors to collaborate on strategies to facilitate loan approval • Desire to communicate by phone and IM in addition to email to solve problems, vs. relying on email Qualifications: • Excellent decision-making and communication skills • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and automated underwriting systems • Familiarity with home loans and residential mortgages such as FHA, USDA, VA, conventional loan guidelines, and loan products • At least 5 years of Mortgage Underwriting Experience Compensation: $80,000 + bonus
