Job Summary:
As a Mover, you will be responsible for packing, loading, transporting, and unloading customer belongings in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. You will work closely with other team members and customers to ensure a smooth and stress-free moving experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Packing and Loading:
- Carefully pack customer belongings using appropriate materials and methods.
- Load items onto moving trucks efficiently while ensuring proper weight distribution and securing items to prevent damage.
- Handle fragile and high-value items with care.
Transportation Support:
- Assist the Driver / Crew Lead with navigation and directions as needed.
- Safely ride along during transportation and help unload upon arrival at the destination.
Unloading and Placement:
- Unload items at the customer's new location, ensuring all belongings are accounted for and in the same condition as when packed.
- Place furniture and items in the customer's desired locations, ensuring satisfaction with the arrangement.
Customer Interaction:
- Provide excellent customer service by being polite, respectful, and accommodating to customer needs.
- Address customer questions or concerns professionally and escalate issues to the Driver / Crew Lead when necessary.
Safety and Equipment:
- Use all equipment (e.g., dollies, straps, pads) safely and appropriately to prevent damage or injury.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear required protective gear during the move.
Workplace Maintenance:
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in moving trucks, equipment, and the workplace.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to management.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Previous moving, packing, or general labor experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items (50 lbs or more) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to stand, bend, stretch, and climb stairs as part of the moving process.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments.
