    Are you a Chicago musician looking to make an impact on the next generation of rock stars? Are you currently pursuing a degree in music and want to share your craft with a diverse array of young musicians? Do you want to work as a private lessons instructor, but don’t want to deal with the hassle of maintaining your own teaching schedule?

    Requirements: Good candidates to teach at School of Rock may include:

    Professional working musicians looking for a way to fill in the gaps of their gigging schedule

    Non-professional musicians who are proficient in their instrument, and enjoy the teaching process

    College/University music students who wish to earn extra money with a part time job (that could lay the foundation for a career in music post-graduation)

    To succeed as an instructor at School of Rock, you must be:

    Flexible, enthusiastic, patient, and have a positive attitude

    Able to discuss the ongoing development of your students with their parents

    Coachable in regards to the School of Rock teaching method

    Able to commute to the north suburbs (not public transportation friendly)

    Things that are especially valuable, but not required, are:

    Formal music school training

    Early childhood education/experience

    Child development knowledge/experience

    About the School: School of Rock teaches guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards, drums, and combines weekly private music lessons and group band rehearsals to prepare students to take the stage in front of live audiences in an authentic concert setting. With over 350 locations in the U.S. and abroad, School of Rock students have played thousands of concerts and music festivals, including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Warped Tour, Gathering of the Vibes, and Milwaukee Summerfest.
