We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to provide engaging and comprehensive music education to small groups of students in grades 3-8 at the Leesburg, Florida location. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop an appreciation for music through vocal and instrumental instruction, music theory, and performance opportunities
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a dynamic music curriculum aligned with the school's standards.
Teach general music classes to students in grades 3-8, incorporating vocal and instrumental instruction.
Introduce students to various musical styles, cultures, and historical contexts.
Lead and direct school performances, including concerts, assemblies, and other musical events.
Teach basic music theory, ear training, rhythm, and notation.
Foster creativity and a love for music through engaging lessons and hands-on activities.
Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects.
Assess and track student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
Maintain and care for musical instruments, equipment, and classroom materials.
Communicate with parents, guardians, and school administration regarding student progress and upcoming events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field. (FL teaching certification not required)
Previous experience teaching at the k-8 level is preferred
Ability to lead and inspire students in both individual and group settings
Experience directing choirs, ensembles, or school performances is a plus
Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
