NBC & Telemundo Connecticut Internships provide students with real world experience and exposure to working in the television industry. Internships at NBC & Telemundo Connecticut are paid and do not require course credit.
Pay rate is minimum wage.
NBC Connecticut & Telemundo Connecticut are looking for a team player to join our Sales team. As a Sales intern on this team, you will support the development of multiplatform campaigns and strategies that drive advertising revenue for the stations.
Responsibilities:
Create PowerPoint presentations on business trends and actively participate in all meetings.
Assist in pipeline management by pulling through zero share business, prospective lucrative business categories and cold calling.
Assist digital sales planner by helping to manage all phases of the pre- and post-sale digital campaign process, including creating media plans, gathering campaign assets and optimizing campaigns.
Participate in brainstorming sessions with sales team to develop creative solutions for advertisers
Generate ideas for advertisers that could lead to new sources of revenue – stay on top of current events, market trends, emerging business categories and competitive efforts to identify innovative revenue streams
Ensure customer satisfaction in pre- and post-sales service. Monitor the delivery of cross-platform campaigns to ensure communication between sales and marketing.
Navigate and learn effectively through a wide variety of platforms and avenues: digital, web research, mobile, social media, sports, television, sponsorships.
Provide various administrative support on daily tasks.
Qualifications
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
IN-PERSON Must be willing to work at the station in West Hartford, CT
Desired Characteristics
Pursuing a major in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and creative skills
Exceptional project management, organizational and presentation skills
Familiarity with and experience using TikTok, Facebook, Instagram
Interest in the television, streaming or digital entertainment industries
Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams
Graphic design experience with proficiency in Photoshop (Final Cut Pro)
Bilingual skills – Spanish/English – preferred, but not necessary
