    Job Description

    As a Studio Tech I, you will support studio productions as a technical operator and perform multiple studio functions such as camera operator, audio operator, stage manager, robotic camera operator, server playback.     A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Under the supervision of operations managers, you will collaborate with Technical Staff, Studio Directors, and Producers to satisfy production needs
    • Support Studio Directors in an Automated Production Control System for studio shows by assisting with coding and prepping rundowns
    • Review content for air by evaluating and providing quality control for audio, video, and graphics
    • You’ll get hands-on experience performing mic checks, set and adjust camera shots, monitor upcoming remote shots, and collaborating with crew in the control room and at remote sets
    • You’ll get exposure to other studio tech positions including Jib and Steadi Operator, Audio Operator, ENG Photographers and Studio Directors
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum of two years of experience as a Studio Technician or as a Server Playback/Replay Op, Jib Op, Audio or Stage Manager (additional training provided) in a live production studio environment, sports a plus
    • Functional knowledge of newsroom computer systems, specifically iNews
    • Available to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays
    • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and set/strike studio/remote gear.

    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
    • Aptitude and desire to be cross trained to the next technical level (Tech II)
    • Prior experience in any of the following roles 
      • Tape playback operator for live studio shows, Bay Area sports knowledge a plus
      • Camera Operator or Stage Manager for live studio shows
      • Prior Assistant Director (AD) experience a plus

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • REQUIRED ON-SITE: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
