ROLE PURPOSE

Reporting to the SVP & Chief Counsel, Global Legal Operations & Innovation, the Vice President, Legal Technology Strategy & Process Innovation will be responsible for strategic planning and innovation in support of NBCU Legal’s technology portfolio.  This will include improving process and use of technology to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal function; providing support for key initiatives and insight regarding emerging legal technology; and acting as a primary liaison with NBCU Operations & Technology (O&T) to align with the enterprise technology ecosystem. You’ll contribute to the group's mission and positively impact the Company's strategic direction by championing the use of technology and streamlined processes, in order to optimize the delivery of efficient and effective legal services to NBCU businesses.

JOB DUTIES

• Drive increased adoption and effective use of legal technology related to collaboration, contract management, outside counsel management, knowledge management, automation and other critical legal systems and processes
• Own governance oversight to provide a cohesive view across the legal technology ecosystem
• Engage at the legal function level to bridge legal process and technology decisions
• Partner with NBCU Operations & Technology on the legal application ecosystem, including strategy and process impacting corporate and business legal, as well as external stakeholders
• Manage and support legal operations process improvement projects, including analyzing emerging legal operations trends and advising on solutions
• Identify opportunities for system and process enhancements, in support of innovative solutions
• Assist with creation and delivery of program/project training sessions

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years of experience in a corporate legal operations group or comparable legal management role in a global, highly matrixed organization
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; JD, MA strongly preferred
• Technical knowledge of legal operations processes, legal and enterprise technology tools, metrics/KPIs

• Experience supporting technology implementations (business analysis, change management, configurations)
• Strong influencing skills, including a demonstrated track record of establishing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, business and organizational political acumen
• Ability to identify, analyze and creatively solve problems
• Ability to learn rapidly, exercise influence, and manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects
• Ability to work in a complex, rapidly changing environment – adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to quickly deliver innovative solutions
• Strong verbal and written presentation skills, including the ability to communicate in both legal/business user and technology environments
• Collegial, curious, and collaborative in approach and style; comfortable being part of a global team
