    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE: NBC News is seeking an Associate Producer to assist in all aspects of production of long form content.

    JOB DUTIES

    • Contribute to production of original content for air, including story development
    • Aid in extensive editorial research
    • Conduct pre-interviews and on-camera interviews
    • Participate in shooting, scripting and editing, as directed
    • Produce show segments, as needed, under the direction of the Senior Producer
    • Coordinate with technical, operations staff, and external resources

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have at least 3 years’ editorial production experience for a network or cable operation
    • Must be proficient in Outlook and iNews
    • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, History, or a related field of study preferred

    ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be willing to work in New York or Los Angeles
    • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
    • Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume
    • Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
    • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • DV shooting experience, including previous work with a DSLR
    • Ability to light and shoot sit down, multi-camera interviews
    • Ability to shoot both breaking news and documentary style b-roll
    • Ability to edit with non-linear editing systems, specifically AVID
    • Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
    • Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills and editorial judgment
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
    • Knowledge of NBC News Policies, Guidelines and Practices
