  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    _ Job Duties_

    • Manage and monitor third-party intermediary risks, including: the implementation of new tools, vetting process and periodic compliance monitoring reports and activities, and escalating matters as appropriate
    • Conduct background checks and due diligence (baseline due diligence, Dow Jones, Bridger, public domain search) on talent, employees, vendors, clients and other business partners, as deemed necessary, and assist with clearing red flags or adverse hits
    • Partner with Finance on clearing Bridger hits for vendors and business partners, and other matters, as needed
    • Oversee the vetting process of international charitable organizations in Latin America as requested by business units and functions, and liaise with Corporate Social Responsibility to submit US charitable organizations through the vetting process
    • Assist on the implementation and management of key compliance tools such as Gifts and Business Entertainment and Conflicts of Interest
    • Support business units and functions with GBE requests to government officials, and work with NBCU Compliance and Comcast Political Affairs to obtain pre-approval, while also keeping thorough records
    • Conduct compliance training with Telemundo/NBCUniversal employees and business partners in the US and abroad, as well as keeping and reporting training records
    • Assist other NBCU Compliance professionals conducting integrity investigations
    • Support business units and functions with import and export matters, and work with NBCU Compliance Operations and Global Sourcing to properly ship goods
    • Support the development of compliance controls related to major sports events and other special events
    • Support Telemundo Council and the day-to-day activities of the Council with the different businesses, including, but not limited to:
      • Organizing and carrying out periodic meetings
      • Working on the documentation of annual priorities
      • Liaising with other businesses and functions in connection with matters that are of Council’s interest
      • Reviewing and supporting businesses and functions with their periodic reports
      • Consolidating, preparing, and presenting final reports to relevant stakeholders (including IRB reports)
    • Support NBCU Compliance on the review and approval of Conflicts of Interest
    • Perform other compliance program-related responsibilities and duties, as needed
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    _ Basic Requirements_

    • BA/BS degree required
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive compliance experience
    • Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
    • Experience working with television industry, including, but not limited to, production operations, news, sports, entertainment and streaming

    _ Desired Characteristics_

    • Strong understanding of the elements of an effective compliance program for a publicly-traded, global company
    • Previous experience with international compliance programs and matters, especially Latin America
    • Demonstrated understanding of rules, regulations, and best compliance practices regarding anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, International Trade Controls, conflicts of interest, gifts and business entertainment, and related matters
    • Proven knowledge of operational, financial, and human resource functions and procedures
    • Ability to gain the respect of, and build a rapport with, multiple constituencies, both internally and externally
    • Capability to self-motivate, work independently as well as collaboratively
    • Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills

    _ Application Information_

    • Must be willing to work in Miami, FL
    • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
