Estimator – Commercial Roofing

Tacoma, WA (in-office & on-site)

Bring your commercial roofing estimation and project management to a local, renowned, commercial and residential roofing and waterproofing contractor. In this pivotal role, the Estimator will connect with new clients, go on-site to assess, gather necessary information, and prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates. Acting as the main point of contact and fostering strong client relationships, the Estimator will oversee commercial projects from start to finish, ensuring efficient execution and adherence to budgets, deadlines and the highest quality standards.

Estimator Responsibilities:

• Generate accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and project specifications.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and technical documents to determine the scope of work, required materials, and labor costs.
• Create comprehensive and precise estimates using software tools.
• Evaluate project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential cost overruns or delays.
• Review and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, identifying areas for cost savings and implementing appropriate cost control measures.
• Provide ongoing support to project managers and construction teams, addressing any estimating-related issues or concerns as needed.

Estimator Qualifications:

• 1-3+ years of estimating experience. MUST have experience with commercial roofing estimates.
• Proficient in estimating software such as Excel, Job Nimbus, and Xactimate.
• Solid mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $75-85k (+commission), expected earnings on target to $100k
