POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cloud/HPC Enterprise Architect. In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary:The role of Enterprise Architect is to expand NYULMCs use of data, systems, and applications as a strategic enabler of enterprise goals and objectives. The Enterprise Architect will help define the Enterprise Architecture at NYULMC using standard Enterprise Architecture frameworks and methodologies. The EA will need to focus on Process, Information, Application and Technical strategies and architectures at the enterprise level and ensure alignment with partner specific information technology strategies from clinical, educational , research and corporate services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
ADDITIONAL POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Development and implementation of infrastructure architecture framework (roadmaps, product life-cycle, reference architecture) are established and put in place Aid technology domains in driving operational excellence through institution of agile processes and technologies to drive quick provisioning, accurate configurations, repeatable processes/implementations orchestrate deep dives on problems identified in critical systems with the ability to examine all layers of the platform delivery - goal resolve root cause/s and prevent reoccurrence Identify potential technology interdependencies during change governance reviews to highlight risk and engagement of all stakeholders Participate in operational improvement projects to mitigate risks in current delivery Work with domain / solution architects to assess operation readiness while deploying new applications with emphasis on recovery, monitoring capabilities, vendor support etc. Audit and review operational documentation, procedures and standards are current Develop education tracks for infrastructure and app owners to increase understanding of key characteristics of robust operational architecture
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrates broad knowledge across multiple technologies Deep knowledge of virtualization technologies in the following platforms and storage technologies. Deep experience in VDI environments ( Citrix etc.,) Understanding of Storage technologies with IBM/EMC/Cloud based service providers. EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN HIGH PERFORMANCE VMWARE VSPHERE ENVIRONMENT Deep understanding of Backup technologies; such as Veritas, EMC Data Domain, Symantec NBU and equivalent enterprise systems. Must possess intimate knowledge of ESX environment, clustering technologies, HP Blade Center, and Cloud Based systems such as box, drop box, IaaS, PaaS, and equivalent enterprise level systems and Architecture. Intimate knowledge of Desktop technologies and enterprise monitoring tools such as Altiris, Microsoft SCCM, TPC, HP Director, Cisco and other industry technologies of messaging and collaboration including Microsoft and mobile technologies such as Mobile Data Management/Mobile Application Management systems such as AirWatch or equivalent. EXPERIENCE IN EVALUATING, ARCHITECTING AND MANAGING CLOUD ENVIRONMENTS LIKE AWS, GOOGLE CLOUD ENVIRONMENT, AZURE. Deep experience in different storage technologies ( file, block, object). Specifically in ExtremeIO, HP 3PAR, Isilon Deep knowledge of active directory services and disaster recovery of systems and under-pinning technologies and dependent systems. Authentication and remote access technologies. Industry experience with multiple vendors as well as having connectivity with various forums and experts. Knowledge of developing, setting and driving standards while operationalizing various technologies. Ability to work across disciplines and in a matrix environment to deliver results through influence. Demonstrates tech leadership for the respective technologies. Demonstrates collaborative leadership and be the advocate for MCIT. V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE B.S. degree in information systems, computer science or related field 15+ years in technology management in related specialties with intimate knowledge of distributed systems technologies such as server, storage, desktop, enterprise monitoring tools architecture. Health care experience a plus; understanding of the requirements of an integrated academic medical center Industry Certifications a plus: (MCSE, etc.) Experience managing multiple projects and initiatives Industry vendor knowledge and established relationships Effective speaker, collaborative worker and good writing skills Able to translate complex technical information and implications in business oriented language Experience with architecture review board governance structure
