    Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

    The Company: Our client is a large behavioral health organization that provides quality patient care for adults and children who are experiencing an acute mental, emotional, or substance use crisis. They are known for the great care they take with patients and employees alike.

    The Position: Our client’s Acute Care Program includes their Emergency Services Assessment Center as well as a Crisis Stabilization Units for both Children and Adults and provides invaluable assistance for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. This NEW LEAD position plays a critical role in providing immediate and comprehensive care as part of a multidisciplinary team

    Requirements:

    • Board Certified PMHNP
    • Active Florida license
    • 2-4 Years of PMHNP and prior involuntary Inpatient experience required
    • Skills in psychiatric assessment, evaluation, medication management, treatment planning and medical/psych intervention
    • Staff leadership or supervisory experience preferred
    • Experience and familiarity with documenting in an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office 365/Teams required

    Responsibilities:

    • Monday - Friday 8am to 6pm (either 8-5 with an hour lunch or 9-6)
    • Overseas and coordinates daily Adult APRN patient assignments and supports BA compliance in collaboration with BA Coordinators and treatment team.
    • Attends, participates, and provides clinical leadership during morning report/pass down, team meetings and clinical staffing sessions.
    • Manages a caseload of up to 20 clients a day during high census days (the number of daily patient visits will fluctuate depending on census and other factors).
    • Completes psychiatric evaluations, medication management, physical exams, and lab orders.
    • Supports the Clinical Director in managing Jail BA clients and provides psychiatric services to the referred clients as per contract agreement.
    • Coordinates care with family members, clarifies diagnoses, and facilitates/orders family meetings.
    • Provides second opinions and testifies as an expert witness in Baker Act court proceedings.
    • Oversee peer reviews and implement practice standards.
    • Trains APRNs and participates in agency initiatives for CCBHC/CRF development.
    • Consults on multidisciplinary team care models and enhances APRN team skills through leadership.
    • Enhances multidisciplinary team skills (Nurses, BHT's, etc.) through education.
    • Supports innovative care systems such as AI tools (e.g., Eleos AI platform)
    • Authenticates orders within 24 hours. Completes documentation on the same day and no later than 24 hours per agency standards.
    • Participate in committees and focus groups including Medical Providers, Zero Suicide Committee, Mortality Reviews, and Seclusion/Restraint reduction.
